Your English language preparation

If you do not meet the minimum English language requirements for your program, you may choose to enrol in one of the English language programs offered by the University of Manitoba to improve your English language proficiency.

Academic English Program

The University of Manitoba's Academic English Program provides English language training for university-bound international students.  Classes are held on the Fort Garry campus so students can enjoy the experience of studying English with access to all the facilities of the university.  Program intake available in January, May and September.  Upon successful completion of the appropriate course at the University of Manitoba's English Language Centre, students are eligible to enter ICM without further English tests, either directly into a UTP program or a UTP Mixed Program.  ICM staff are able to offer advice regarding the application process at the time of applying to ICM.

Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program helps students improve their English language proficiency while also exploring Canadian culture.  Classes are offered on a monthly basis.
