First day of class

Now that you’ve enroled, it’s time to get ready for your classes to begin.

Step 1: Login to your Student Portal.
Step 2: Check your timetable on your Student Portal to confirm your class days and times. Your timetable will be available after you’ve enroled. Check the How to enrol page for tips about enrolment.

Textbooks
Students in Foundation (UTP Stage I) have e-textbooks included as part of their fees.
Students in International Year One (UTP Stage II) will be required to purchase digital or hardcopy textbooks and other learning materials for their courses. Some required learning resources may be available for free as well.
Students will get information specific to each of the courses they have enroled in from their instructor during their first class of the course. If you have any questions, check with your instructor directly.
Check your course outline on Moodle or connect with your instructor for details.
Student ID card
Your student ID card, which has your photograph on it, is your access key to many UM and student services. You can request your student ID card in person on campus.
How to get your student ID card in person
You can apply for and collect your student ID card in person at the ID Centre in the Registrar’s Office (400 UMSU University Centre) during regular business hours. At the start of each term, ID cards are available at the Pop-Up Photo ID Centre. Check the ID Centre hours and location on UM’s website.
You must bring your passport and study permit. You must also also bring your seven-digit UM Student Number. You cannot get a student ID card without this number.
To find your seven-digit UM Student Number, log into your Student Portal, then go to Student Resources > Student Profile and you’ll see it under “UNI NO” on this page. Your UNI NO (UM student number) will be seven digits. If you do not see a number on your profile, please check back after the first week of classes.
Campus facilities
As an ICM student, you have access to many UM campus facilities. At Orientation, you’ll get a chance to tour campus and get familiar with where to go.
